Abstract:
Due to the interference caused by motion artifact (MA),it is difficult to acquire accurate results of heart rate (HR) through reflective Photoplethysmography (PPG).A wrist-type band for heart rate monitoring was proposed in this paper. The band was integrated with a reflective PPG sensor and a tri-axial accelerometer for pulse and motion acquisition.HR calculation was realized by using motion status analysis, adaptive noise cancellation and spectral peak searching.5 subjects participated in the experiments of HR monitoring.HR from Electrocardiograph (ECG) was also recorded simultaneously. The results indicated that the two approaches had a good coherence. The proposed wrist-type band can effectively suppress MA interference and realize accurate HR monitoring.
