Abstract
The simulation test is the most widely used, economical and credible method for studying the launch safety of explosive charge. The core of improving the accuracy of simulation tests is the accurate simulation of launch loads. A double shaper model was proposed for this purpose. The matching design of the double shaper size and output load waveform was investigated by numerical simulation, and the results were verified by shaping experiments with the launch-overload test device of explosive charge. The results showed that the double shaper outperformed a single shaper in shaping effectiveness. After shaping by the double shaper, the stress amplitude of the out-put load showed a decrease from 2 330.7 MPa to 308~932 MPa, and the pulse width demonstrated an increase from 2.3 ms to 5.7~8.6 ms. Three repeated tests indicated that the error in stress amplitude was less than 3%, and the error in pulse width was below 0.2 ms, demonstrating good consistency. Comparing the shaped out-put load waveform with the launch loads of the 155 mm howitzer (extender range projectile), the average absolute error on the rising edge is 6.71%.
