The Theroy of Magnetoelectric Conversion in Explosive Driven Shockwave Demagnetization Generator

  • In order to improve the performance of the explosive-driven shockwave demagnetization generator and analyze the influence ofgenerator under different impact conditions, an analytical model for the magnetoelectric conversion process in generator was developed. The model was founded based on classical electromagnetic field theory. The induced electromotive force and the load current variations with time were derived from the theoretical calculation model.The computing results show that induced EMF depends on the shockwave velocity in magnet, remanence, coercive force, magnet radius and coil turns instead of the length. However, the length of the magnet affects the impulse width of output voltage or current pulse. The shock-induced demagnetization discharge experiments were conducted by explosive planar shock wave loading Nd-Fe-B hard ferromagnetic and the output voltage and current curves were acquired. A good agreement was found between calculated and experimentally obtained output current pulse of the generators.
