Simulation on the Influence of Key Parameters of Expansion Ring Energy Absorber to Buffer Efficiency Under High Velocity Impact

  • With introducing the principle of decreasing overload of onboard equipment by expansion ring energy absorber, numerical simulation of two key parameters of the device utilizing LS-DYNA was performed in this paper. The results show that the overload of onboard equipment exhibits linear change with half cone angle and wall thickness. And when half cone angle <i<α</i<=24° and wall thickness <i<t</i<=5 mm, the cushioning time is the best.
