Effects of Cone Angles or Thicknesses of Liner on Shaped Charge Jet Velocity

  • Liner, as the energy transmitter of shaped charge, is the major factor of the jet quality. In this study, the structure of liner was optimal designed by numerical simulation. With adaptive grids, the simulation model was designed to analyze the relationships between jet velocity and cone angles or thicknesses of liner. Meanwhile, the jet perforation experiment was designed to measure the velocity of jet by the target mesh method. The diameter of jet was achieved by the observation of the pestle body and the diameter of the hole on target plate. The results indicate that the average velocityof jet is 7800 m/s in the stand-off of 40 mm and the diameter of jet is 7.55 mm around.
