The Features of Typical Target Structure's Penetration by High Speed Kinetic Energy Rod

  • The attitude that the damage element of kinetic energy(KE) rod penetrates target in a particular encounter conditions has an influence on the penetration ability of a typical target structure. Considering the arbitrary impact angle factors of KE rod, a Poncelet penetration theory improved model of the three-dimensional spatial distribution parameters and LS-DYNA three-dimensional software were used to analyze the damage progress of the target structure penetrated by the KE rod with different incident angles and different flip angles. The effect of rolling KE rod on the penetration features of the target structure was analyzed, and the damage rule that KE rod penetrated the target with arbitrary impact angle was obtained. Comparing the experimental data, the correctness of the theory was verified.
