Linear Hypothesis Based Accuracy Control for Multi-Resolution Fairing

  • Based on the researches of dyadic wavelet fairing algorithm, arbitrarily resolution wavelet fairing algorithm and software, accuracy control of multi-resolution fairing for general curves was studied in this paper. According to given fairing accuracy, corresponding wavelet scale was forecasted by linear hypothesis and the consequent error was eliminated by iteration process, so the primitive curve could be faired preferably and determined by a minimum of control vertices under the demand of fairing accuracy. Because interpolation and approximation were never used in the process of fairing, faired curves still could be reconstructed accurately and this meets the kernel concept of wavelet analysis.
