Civil Judicial Reform in France

Procedural tardiness is the most obvious characteristic of the modern French judicial crisis. Delayed Justice is not really Justice, judicial efficiency is the primary goal of judicial reform. For greater efficiency, in addition to the procedural simplification, ADR is applied to resolve disputes and it makes the diversification of justice. Different with the "black and white" in the traditional Trial, ADR seek special justice of the gray areas. By destroying the traditional image of the justice-always standing in a high and isolated position, the proximity of justice establishes a new image closing to the people and rebuilds public trust to the justice. On the basis of the previous measures, the French judicial report in 2008 proposes a new concept, that the appeasement of justice, as the new direction for the modern judicial reform, to put the parties in the center of the judicial system, stress that the justice serves the public, respect judicial readability, convenience and predictability.
