Influential Factors of Continuous Innovation Capability for Small and Medium Enterprises of Science and Technology

Continuous innovation capability is one of the key factors in achieving sustained economic growth and development for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) of science and technology. This paper investigates impact factors of continuous innovation capability for SMEs of science and technology, analyzes the basic theory and makes related assumptions. Furthermore, quantitative model of continuous innovation development capability is constructed. On this basis, this paper makes empirical study based on the economic census data. The results show that education attainment to age ratio in enterprises management, firm age, board of supervisors' size, firm size, the number of universities and research institutes for the located firms have different degrees of significant influence on continuous innovation capability for SMEs of science and technology. Besides, innovation input, output and development capability of SMEs of science and technology have many impact factors. Our paper can provide theoretic foundations and references for governments to support the SMEs.
