On The Transformation of The Education Paradigm of China

A substantial education reform should include the overall transformation of social and cultural values, as well as the education system, that is, the transformation of education paradigm. It is guided by theoretical innovation and cultural renewal. For this, there is a need for social motivation and widespread public participation. In this way consensus concerning reforms can be reached for the exploration of knowledge economy and new features of knowledge production and social renovation, emphasizing “silent revolutions” carried out at grass-roots level. Our current education reform needs to further implement and enhance the new mechanism of the combination of “top down and bottom up”, through improvement of governance, simplification of the delegation of power, stimulation of local and grass-roots level innovation, as well as training learning individuals and organizations. In this manner, progresses can be made to push forward the overall transformation of education paradigm.
