Case Study of Resilience after “5.12” Wenchuan Earthquake—from a Perspective of Psychoanalysis

“5.12” Wenchuan Earthquake led to numerous losses, but people in the disaster areas have showed amazing resilience. This research consists of two case studies of resilience in disaster areas, and conclusions are obtained through field observations and analyses of the records of psychological counseling from the perspective of psychoanalysis on the topic of the connotation of resilience, which reveals that to provide“good-enough sustainable nurture environment” in individuals’ early stage of lives is propitious to the nurturance of resilience, and so is an effective route of psychological intervention.
