“Xing ji” Theory and the Rhetorical Arts of Tang Poem

“Xing ji”theory is an important theoretical category in poetics of Tang Dynasty. The so-called“Xing ji” is to apply analogies and metaphors for conveying profound thoughts, which puts equal stresses on artistry and ideological content. This article analyzes the rhetorical devices of the Tang poems, in order to research the techniques of analogies and metaphors for the interpretation of the influences and functions of “Xingji” in the rhetoric arts of poetry.
