Pursuit of Love and Religion—A study on Donne's Contradictory View of Love

Loyalty and betrayal are the two main themes of Donne’s love poems. This contradictory view of love has deep love and religious roots. Donne’s experience of betrayal and conversion in his religious life has left him in contradiction and conflict for the rest of his life， but Donne has not stopped the pursuit of religion and love. What his love poems express is a poetic ideal of experience from love between men and women to holy love between God and men.
