On the Operating Model of Student Newspapers in Universities－A Case Study on the Youth News of China Youth University for Political Sciences

Nowadays, student newspapers are surging in many universities .Yet most of them are facing many problems, such as instability of quality, unattractiveness of content and unprofessional operation in the whole procedures. This article puts forward some valuable experiences and approaches from four years practice of the Youth News in the department of Journalism of China Youth University for Political Sciences. It notes that campus newspaper can act in supervisory function towards the school authorities. Newspapers with long publishing interval suit in -depth reports. The training of new members is the key point during the developmental process of campus newspapers. Meanwhile, the institutionalization of publishing process and work incentives of the members can ensure those newspapers develop in a sustained and stable way.
