On the Study of the Usage of Chinese Characters in the Classical Books of Chu Bamboo Slips

The study on the usage of Chinese characters consists of illuminating the derivation of the meaning of Chinese characters and explaining Tongjiazi in the usage of Chinese characters. It both differs and resembles the interpretation of Chinese characters. At present, the main unearthed and published classical books of Chu Bamboo Slips are from the Chu Tomb in Guodian and Shanghai Museum collections. Relevant research results on the usage of those Chinese characters are the monographs paraphrasing the classical books of Chu Bamboo Slips, the individual theses, the aggregative and scattered treatise s. They are generally unsystematic, depend on the interpretation ofChinese characters and put too much effort on Tongjiazi.
