Research on Education of School of Army Crops in the Northern Song Dynasty

Although it regarded highly of arts and repressed military affairs, the Northern Song dynasty attached great importance to the development of school eduction. As the important parts of official school, military arts were set up successively in Qing Li, Xi Ning, Chong Ning and not abolished by the end of Jing Kang epoch. Gradually, it developed comparatively perfect system of personnel, recruiting of students, cultivation, management, government official of appointment of graduates at the time. To be sure, it had some affirmative functions to education of military affairs in the Northern Song dynasty. But it had various defects and resulted in negative functions of military affairs and society,largely for the limits of that time.
