Shangguan Yi's Poetic Theory and Her Contribution to Poetry

Shang Guan Yi's contribution to the composition of lushi makes him the pioneer poet in Tang Dynasty. His theoretical monograph of poetry Bi Zha Hua Liang remarkably benefits people in the later ages. According to the existing documents, Bi Zha Hua Liang once had been spread to Japan around 806A.D. and it also been quoted by KongHai. Bi Zha Hua Liang includes "ba jie", "liu zhi", "shu dui","qi zhong yan ju li", "wen bing", "di si bing", "lun dui shu" etc. It not only inherits customs handed down from the past, but also initiates Yuan KE's and Cui Rong's theory in the follow generation. This theoretical monograph makes a great contribution to poetic theory.
