Internet Space and the Practice in Public Areas

Taking Habermas'"Public Areas" as the theoretical basis,and based on the characteristics of internet space,this paper analyzes the potentials for internet space to become public areas,and further points out that because of the inequalities caused by the elements such as the threshold restrictions of economics and knowledge,the language hegemony in internet space and the digital gaps,etc.,the possibility for internet space to become public areas is also restricted.
