The Ration Setting of Response Criterion in Meta-memory

This paper discusses the basic characteristic of signal detection theory and the limitation of its application in meta-memory study. The meta-memory experiment will adopt a method of setting subjects' response criterion similar to the traditional signal detection theory, and meanwhile will make a comparison between them. A metamemory study under free report condition can indicate how to quantitatively separate subject's monitoring and control ability. This method is important in the methodological study of meta-memory.
