A Research into the Social Foundation for Viewing the Difference of Chinese Culture and Japanese Culture from the Perspective of Confucian “Conception of Loyalty and Filial Piety”

China and Japan are both greatly influenced by Confucian thoughts, but there exist some differences in the essence of the two cultures. This paper, by a comparison of their conception on loyalty and filial piety, discovers that the differences between Chinese culture and Japanese culture result in the difference of their social category: China is an ethics-oriented society and Japan is a feudalism-oriented society.
