An Analysis of the Factors for the Insensitiveness to Engineering Ethics

The awareness of engineering ethics among engineers and the public is relatively low at present.This situation directly influences the development of engineering ethics and hinders the engineer from consciously shouldering his ethical responsibility.The factors which cause the negligence in ethical consciousness are analyzed from the following aspects: the view of engineering,the methods applied in engineering,the characters of ethics,social institution of engineering and the complexity of ethical problems in engineering.The ethical implications of engineering are revealed in order to arouse the consciousness of engineering ethics.
