On the "Li(Beauty)" Category of Chinese classical Aesthetics in the Tang-Song dynasty

"Li(Beauty)"is one of the most important categories of Chinese classical aesthetics,It runs through the whole course of Chinese classical aesthetics.There coexist two kinds of behavior about"li"in the aesthetic vision of the Tang-Song dynasty.One is perceptual appearance,and the other is reason appearance.Throughout the whole Tang dynasty,"li"is the prominent perceptual characteristic of poetic beauty,and is also attached great emphasis in the poetic theories.During the Song Dynasty,the aesthetes also showed some special interest in the perceptual features of"li"and tried to seek for those while writing poems;at the same time,the poetic theories of the period also make a detailed analysis of some subtle meanings of"li".All of these signifies that"li"category of Chinese classical aesthetics is in full blossom.
