The Relation between Taiyuan Deserved People and the Political Struggle during the period of Wude

During the founding of Tang Dynasty,a group of people in Taiyan,who followed Li Yuan to initiate a revolution,had played an important role in the crucial time from Jin Yang to Chang'an.However,with the shift of Li Yuan's position from the military commander to the emperor,the structure of his clique also changed greatly.Li's followers were eventually deserted,and in the decree Bao Xun Chen Zhao issued by Li Yuan,their statues were defined as only enjoying the privilege of exemption from death.But the Taiyuan people didn't submit to Li's order,and during the period of Wude,they were divided into different groups due to their different interests in the political struggle.Their destiny in the political struggle not only reflects the change of political power in the early period of Tang Dynasty,but also reveals some features of its political structure.
