Funding for Higher Education and the Challenges to China's Entry into the WTO

Based on the funding experience of the higher education sector in the developed countries,this paper attempts to picture a funding scheme for Chinese universities.It proposes that government financial support is a major source,while seeking funding from multiple channels is also necessary.It further illustrates the challenges facing China after the country's entry into the WTO,and offers some suggestions on how to enhance Chinese university's competitiveness in a more and more open market of higher education in China.
