A Historical Exploration and a Present Comparison to the Equity of Higher Education in the Developed Countries

The equity of higher education is the common theme in the research field of higher education all over the world.From the view of historical analyses to the equity of higher education in developed countries,the paper tries to classify them into three stages.It also points out the characteristics of equity of higher education in each stage,their forms of inequity,as well as the reasons of them.Through historical and present comparison,the paper concludes that the inequity of higher education is a common theme which lies in the development of world higher education.So there is a long way to go to solve it.However,we can draw lessons from the developed countries in solving the problems of higher education inequity.
