Abstract
In 2004 personal blogs as a new genre of personal online publishing has become very popular in China. The unique characteristics of this genre include an active multi-representation of the communication agent, a text incorporating monologue and dialogue, and an interaction based on the expansion of personal websites. This essay argues that the rise of personal blogs signals a large scale emergence of personal domain on the internet, and the rise of individual communication agents contributes to the return of humanism in an information age.
