The Influence of Main-Stream Culture upon Xumeishan Cave of the North Dynasty

Xumishan Cave, that is located in Guyuan, is the important place in the eastern end of the Silk Road in Han and Tang Dynasties. It is a "melting pot" for different cultures in the area. The excavation of Xumishan Cave was influenced by the main-stream elements of culture from North and South Dynasties. The motifs of three Buddhas in Yungang Cave and Longmen Cave, the structure of dome and fudou ceils as well as the Buddha's dress style in Qixiashan Cave are totally reflected in Xumishan Cave.
