A View of the Future of the Rural Areas through Reading the Novel “The Land-deserted Village”

The future of rural areas actually is the possible development of the status quo.Any countryman's action will have influence on the future of the rural areas. In the novel "TheLand-deserted Village", those farmers are difficult to continue their life with the heavy burden of taxes; therefore, they have broken the law of contract and carry out the second Land Reform forcedly. The short period of relieved stress is replaced by the more complicated situation: Countrymen now face double stress from both outer and inner. However, they are making their dreams come true under the drive of stress. This novel shows a kind of possibility, but to solve the problems of the countrymen totally by their own hands seems to be the most difficult problem in the journey of the reform in rural areas.
