Rational Attitudes towards Public Opinion

Public opinion has two sides: rationality and irrationality. Any emphasis of one side will lead to an extremity. The rational attitude towards public opinion should be a full consideration of both the two sides; in another word, trying both to ensure the freedom of public opinions and to prevent from pleasing and flattering the public. To be specified, we would rather guide than control the public opinion, thereby to change them from irrationality and meanwhile stop flattering the public and stop the mass violence.
