Viewing of the Strength of the National Economy for Fighting against Crisis from the Case of SRAS

The 2003 SRAS crisis in China was developed from a sanitation crisis into a crisis spreading in the economy area. It is not terrible that an economy crisis takes place in a county if the government can deal with it well. This has been proved by the fact that China successfully overcome the SARS crisis by its solid economy foundation, completed economy system and consistently regular development. This paper firstly analyzes the impact that SRAS has conducted upon the national economy demand (including consumption, investment and exportation), the three industries and the employment situation, and then points out that the SARS lesson teaches that we should be prepare for danger in times of safety and take precautions anytime, and to strengthen the institutions for fighting against SRAS and to take countermeasures actively: establish the correct crisis awareness; build up unblocked national economy information system; take economic measures actively; correctly deal with the relationship between the planned scope of the development and the actual economic growth.
