  • Nickname is a typical nominate metaphor. Based on the cases and background investigations of various nicknames in the Chinese and English language, this article presents and explains the rhetoric and pragmatic aesthetics of metaphor through a discussion of the rhetoric features and pragmatic function of nicknames.
