A Posituve Study of the Necessity of Cultural Lead-In in the Courses of Foreign Language Majors

The linguistic competence a nd socio-cultural competence of the English majors in our university are tested by the way of correlation analysis and T-test,then the data are fully analyzed. The result shows the inadequacy of the socio-cultural competence of the students and the urgency of developing their socio-cultural competence.Moreover,some su ggestions on how to teach the needed relevant socio-cultural knowledge and the w ay to improve the students' socio-cultural competence and their overall quality are put forward.
