The Relationship between Liu zongyuan's philosophy and Neo-Confucianism

Renaissanc e of confucianism is the major task of Sui and Tang period.As a confuicianist,liu zongyuan answers this trend of the times from five aspects .This thesis intends to discuss liu zongyuan's philosophy.His creation of the theory points out the way of developing Confucianism,and lay a foundation for the revisement of Neo-C onfucianism.He is a great renovator of confucianism,as well as a pioneer of the Hsing-li learning of the Song and Ming dynasties.
