Interaction of the Western and Chinese Culture in the Qing Dynasty and its Termination

In the Qing dynasty,there was an evident turnaround in Chinese culture. On the one hand, Chinese culture researchers strived to change academic bunkum advocated in the Song Dynasty and to reconstructed society and thought order. On the other hand, the extensive encounter and interaction between western and Chinese cultures ended up with a failure. This paper aims to prove that the beneficial interaction among idiosyncratic cultures can be only established on the base of in-depth understanding between both parties and participation with equal status. Each culture should reflect itself historically in attitude selection in mankind's civilization development history.
