On the View of New Medium Technology in the Era of Network Society

Human society has begun to enter the era of the network society which is marked with the new medium. Prior to this, there are three important views of technology in industrial society, which is humanism, pragmatism, and pan-medium technology. These three views of technology reflect and explain the relationship between human and technology, technology and society from different levels. Through the review and reflection on Heidegger, Dewey and Mcluhan's representative technology communication thoughts, it can be found that the correct understanding of the new medium technology, is to integrate the three kinds of technology views first. Second, there should be a comprehensive study on the new medium's technical characteristics and its deep logic. Ultimately, we should form a view of new medium technology which contains the dimensions of technology, space, value and culture. Only by constantly carrying on the innovation of the new medium technology views can we lead the thought revolution of the network society.
