Abstract
This paper examined the international R & D spillover effects via information and communication technology by using the panel data of China's 30 provinces except Tibet from 2003 to 2012. It investigated the relationship of international R & D spillover via information and communication technology and the local total factor productivity by using panel unit root test, co-integration test, correlation analysis, granger causality test and random effects model. Then it tested the threshold effect of international R & D spillover via information and communication technology channel by establishing Hansen non-dynamic panel threshold model and using robust standard errors regression. It analyzed the reasons from the perspective of industry transformation, upgrading and information construction. The results show a positive correlation between international technology spillover via information and communication and total factor productivity in most provinces of China, while international R & D spillover via information and communication technology has obvious regional difference and threshold effect.
