Empirical Study on the Influence of Weak ties on SNS

Weak ties have played an increasingly important role in Social Network Service(SNS)platforms. Users receive attention from other users and have network influence by releasing information or displaying photos and videos in the SNS platform. At the same time, a large number of rich content of the SNS platform has been provided by active communication and interaction between users. This paper mainly studies how weak ties to make a difference in the SNS platform, thus to empower SNS platform a better influence by taking full advantage of weak ties. Taking the photo-sharing site Flickr as example, through its public program API to get data, this paper has done correlation and regression statistical analysis, so as to explore the influence of SNS platform functions in relation to weak ties on the information that users have released. From the results, it was found that views, reviews and pools of the information have significant positive effect on the influence of information, while tags does not have a significant effect on the influence of information.
