Research on Relationship Between Separation-Individuation and the Adjustment of Intimate Relationship for College Students

To investigate the current situation of college students' separation-Individuation and the relationship between separation-Individuation and the adjustment of intimate relationship, a sample of 350 college students from a college in Shanxi Province were recruited in the study to complete the Separation-Individuation Test of Adolescence and Adjustment of Intimate Relationship Scale. The results indicated that:(1)The conditions of subjects' separation-individuation are in the middle level.(2)In terms of engulfment anxiety, dependency denial,self-centeredness and nurturance seeking, male students are significantly higher than the female.(3) There is a significant relationship between negative separation-individuation and positive separation-individuation with the adjustment of Intimate Relationship.(4)Negative separation-individuation and positive separation-individuation could predict the adjustment of Intimate Relationship.
