Abstract: Sino-US relations determine the direction of international politics and the peace and stability of the global system in the 21st century. Properly handling Sino-US relations is of great significance to both China, the United States and the world. Based on the 2017-2018 survey of the world views of Chinese and American people, a detailed analysis of the images of the two countries in the minds of the people of the two countries and their awareness of each other's countries was made. There is a significant difference between the two, in terms of cognition of each other's countries and the satisfaction of reporting. In addition, on the basis of recognizing the image of each other's major powers, there are also obvious differences in subdivision areas such as national favorability, national leader favorability, and the political and public diplomacy image of the two countries. Whether people are interested in a country and whether they understand it and their own education level, income level, and international news contact rate are important factors that affect the national image perception of the people of the two countries.
