明清西方力学在华传播路径研究

    The Communication Paths of Western Mechanical Knowledge in China during Ming and Qing Dynasties

    • 摘要: 明清西方力学在华的传播为中国近代力学发展奠定基础,其传播路径反映了社会文化差异、受众认知特点等在跨文化传播过程中的作用。中国古代知识的积累及明清时期的实学思潮成为西方力学知识在华传播的基石;17世纪初西方力学的发展水平、中西文化差异及明清受众对西方科学的态度转向影响了西方力学在华传播路径的形成;在诸多因素的推动下,西方力学在明清时期呈现出理论与技术各异的传播路径。该路径的形成既是中国传统文化通过重构以吸收西方力学知识的过程,也是中国近代力学发展的缩影。

       

      Abstract: The communication of western mechanical knowledge in the Ming and Qing Dynasties laid the foundation for the development of mechanics in modern China, and its communication paths helped to understand the role of social and cultural differences and the cognitive characteristics of the audience in the process of intercultural communication. The accumulation of Chinese ancient mechanical knowledge and the trend of pragmatic thought in the Ming and Qing Dynasties were the bases for the communication of western mechanical knowledge; the development of western mechanics in the early 17th century, the differences between Chinese and western cultures, and the shift of Chinese audience's attention to western science influenced the formation of the communication paths of western mechanical knowledge in China. Under the influence of these factors, western mechanics presented different communication paths of theory and technology in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. These paths reflected the restructuring process in which Chinese traditional culture assimilated western mechanical knowledge, and are the microcosm of the development of Chinese modern mechanics.
